Volunteer to lead a walk, attend a public meeting, help with walk audits, and share your walking story!
SoCal Families for Safe Streets is a community of traffic violence survivors and advocates turning grief into action.
By sharing their stories, they push for policy change at the local, state, and national levels to prevent future tragedies and keep all families safe. Their work advances Vision Zero strategies, equitable street design, and policies that prioritize the most vulnerable road users. Through advocacy and community-building, they call for bold action to create streets where everyone—pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers—can move safely and with dignity..
The Safe Streets Promotores certification equips community members with the tools and knowledge to advocate for safer, more walkable neighborhoods. This program focuses on providing accessible training on traffic safety, pedestrian-friendly infrastructure, and community engagement strategies tailored to local needs.
Through online workshops, hands-on projects, and collaboration with street safety organizations, participants develop the skills and confidence to effectively advocate for meaningful change and champion safer streets in their communities.
Join Los Angeles Walks and help make your community safer and more accessible! As a volunteer, you can organize neighborhood events, advocate for improved pedestrian infrastructure, and support educational outreach efforts.
